OVERVIEW

Reap the benefits of Nordic walking on a delightful hike through the rural Konavle region south of Dubrovnik. At the onset, you will be briefed on how to walk Nordic-style, using specially designed poles that help to maximize the benefits. This method of walking tones the body, burns nearly 50% more calories than traditional walking and puts less pressure on the knees and joints. Best of all, Nordic walking is easy. You will follow a circuitous route of about 2.5 miles through shaded forests, over rolling hills, along a section of an old narrow-gauge railway and through several charming villages. In one of them, you will pause to relax with a local family in their home. They will be happy to answer any questions you may have about life in rural Croatia. You will also get a taste of the local cuisine as platters of cheeses, prosciutto, olives and pickled vegetables will likely be served.

Note: This tour includes minimum walking of approx. 2.5 miles on different surfaces, walking uphill and downhill, and several steps. This tour is not suitable for guests who utilize a wheelchair. Guests with mobility concerns are cautioned to evaluate their personal level of ability and stamina. The tour is not recommended for pregnant women and small children due to the long hiking distance.
